Ayodhya Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone today for the grand Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony begun at Ram Janmabhoomi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking part in the Pooja. He laid the first brick made of pure silver of 22.6-kg to begin the bhoomi pujan for Ram Lalla Mandir.
As many as 175 people were invited for the event which included 135 saints from different spiritual traditions. The devotees from all corners of the nation have sent gifts like silver bricks, coins and others for groundbreaking ceremony.
Ahead of stone laying ceremony, PM Modi stopped at Hanumangarhi Temple for 'darshan'. He offered prayers there and took Aarti. He was gifted headgear, a silver crown and a stole with Lord Ram inscription at Hanumangarhi. After Hanumangarhi, the Prime Minister reached at Ram janm bhoomi site and took 'Darshan' of Ram Lalla. He offered prayers to Ram Lalla and performed 'sashtang pranam' (prostration) at Ram Janmabhoomi site. Ahead of foundation stone program, he planted a divine-like considered Parijat sapling.
After the stone-laying ceremony, Prime Minister Modi also addressed the gatherings present on the occasion. The Prime Minister Modi was accompained by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel during the bhoomi pujan ceremony. The first brick of the grand temple was laid by PM Modi at specific auspicious 'Muhurat' at 12:40pm. Yoga Guru Ramdev while witnessing the Bhoomi Pujan hailed the day as historic. .
