The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Saturday slammed Prime Minister Modi and Manohar Lal Khattar led BJP government in Haryana for the violence in Panchkula by Dera supporters post-Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction in a 15-year-old rape case.

Raping Haryana government for letting the situation escalate in Panchkula, the High Court said, "You let Panchkula burn for political benefits. You let the situation escalate. You surrendered to the situation."

Reacting to a state government's order to suspend Panchkula DCP, the court said, "You are trying to crucify a small DCP of Panchkula what about those political masters who have been giving wrong directions?"

The furious High Court didn't even spare Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, "He is the Prime Minister of India and not BJP." The High Court's response came after a Central government lawyer advocated that Friday's violence by Dera supporters was a matter of the state.

"Is Haryana not a part of India? Why are Punjab and Haryana treated like step children?" the court added.
