Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan’s brother Ram Chandra Paswan passed away at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in Delhi on Sunday. He was admitted in the hospital on July 12 following a heart attack.
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) MP was kept on life support, where his condition was said to be critical. Several party leaders were visiting him in the hospital ever since he was admitted.
57-year-old Ram Chandra Paswan was an MP from Bihar’s Samstipur.
His brother and Union Minister Paswan, who heads the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), is an ally of the BJP. Recently, he had filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha as the NDA candidate from Bihar.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, LJP contested six seats and won all of the seats. Paswan's brothers Ramchandra Paswan and Pashupati Paras won from Samastipur and Hajipur seats respectively, while his son Chirag Paswan got re-elected from Jamui, all seats reserved for the scheduled castes.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered his condolence on the demise of the LJP leader.
"Shri Ram Chandra Paswan Ji worked tirelessly for the poor and downtrodden. At every forum he spoke unequivocally for the rights of farmers and youngsters. His social service efforts were noteworthy. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti," he tweeted.
