New Delhi:

Yoga teacher Ramdev's planned visit to Delhi's Shaheen Bagh - the focal point of protests against Citizenship Act - on Saturday has been postponed indefinately. Ramdev had said that he would visit Shaheen Bagh during an interview with NDTV on Friday. However, his visit has been cancelled keeping in view the current situation there. While protests at Shaheen Bagh have been largely peaceful, some 'goons' attacked a team of News Nation journalists on Friday. They heckled and manhandled sernior journalist Deepak Chaurasiya and damaged one of the cameras. A case has been registered against unknown people based on the complaint of Chaurasiya and others.

Ramdev on Friday, had told the channel that he was was going to Shaheen Bagh just to listen to the protesters. He said he did not want conflict between Hindus and Muslims.

"I am not for anybody or against anybody... nor am I a middleman. I don't want Hindus and Muslims to fight. If there is injustice against Muslims, I will stand with them. I will go to Shaheen Bagh tomorrow," Ramdev was quoted as saying.

Ramdev also acknowledged that those protesting have the right to do so adding that the manner of protests must be constitutional.

"I am a supporter of protests... of any type of azadi (freedom)... but this must be constitutional, it must not hurt others. I don't want Jinnah-wali azadi, I want Bhagat Singh-wali azadi," he added.

In Delhi's Shaheen Bagh, hundreds are taking part in protest against the amended citizenship law. These protesters have been sitting in for more than a months now.
