Republic Day: PM Narendra Modi greets fellow Indians on social media

To show respect, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday wished all his fellow Indians a Happy Republic Day.

He tweeted, "Republic Day greetings to all my fellow Indians. Tributes to all great personalities who framed our Constitution. I salute Dr. Ambedkar for his efforts as Chairman of Drafting Committee."

This year French president Francois Hollande is the Cheif Guest of India's 67th Republic Day parade.

The national capital has turned into a fortress with a policeman at every 20 metres who have orders to shoot if they spot suspicious activity around Rajpath.

Special arrangements have also been made at the historic Rajpath where President Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, will be witnessing nation's military might that will be on display.
