Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav defended his son Tej Pratap Yadav over his remark to ‘scalp Prime Minister Narendra Modi alive’ for downgrading his father’s security.
The RJD supremo said, “I disagree with my son’s language but not his sentiments. Any son’s blood will boil if he comes to know someone is conspiring against his father.”
He added, “I don’t approve for his act. I have spoken to him to not speak anything like this again.”
Lalu Prasad Yadav also added, “If Narendra Modi thinks I will be scared, I won’t. All people, including children of Bihar will protect me.”
Tej Pratap’s comment came in response to a question over withdrawal of Lalu Prasad's Z-plus VIP security cover by the Centre. He said, “A murder conspiracy is being hatched against my father. We will scalp Narendra Modiji alive.”
He also said, “If anything happened to Lalu Prasad, PM Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would be held responsible.”
Suresh Sharma, BJP leader and Minister in Bihar, said "Only a mentally unstable person will make such statements. Lalu Prasad Yadav in past had made outlandish remarks but never crossed the line like this."
