Rohingya deportation issue: SC tells stakeholders to talk facts, refrain from emotional rhetoric

The Rohingya deportation crisis has taken a new twist with the Supreme Court (SC) telling all the stakeholders to present their argument based on facts and refrain from any emotional rhetoric. 

The apex court will again commence hearing of the case from December 5 onwards. The hearing deferred due to the absence of Additional Soliciter General (ASG) Tushar Mehta. 

Earlier the three bench judge headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A.M. Khanwilkar and D.Y. Chandrachud said that it will hear the case in a detailed perspective which will include the Centre's initial objection that the matter came under the jurisdiction of executive and hence was not justifiable. 

The SC had in its October 13 hearing barred the Modi government to deport any Rohingyas till November 21 which is now deferred till December 5.   

As of now the Rohingyas in India are spread out in the states of Jammu, Hyderabad, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR and Rajasthan.
