The Centre filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Monday over deportation of Rohingya refugees. The Centre told the Apex Court in its 15-page affidavit that presence of Rohingya Muslims in India is a drain on nation's resources and a serious security threat to country.
The Centre also stated that the government has inputs from intelligence agencies about links of some Rohingya Muslims with Pakistan's ISI and Global terror network IS.
The government also said in its affidavit that it is completely within the executive policy how to deal with illegal migrants like Rohingya Muslims. It also added that Rohingyas stay would violate the fundamental rights of Indians.

In the affidavit, the Centre said, “the provisions of Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, 1951 and Protocol Relating to the Status of Refugees, 1967 cannot be relied upon by the petitioner since India is not a signatory of either of the convention.â€
“The continuance of Rohingyas’illegal immigration into India and their continued stay in India, apart from being absolutely illegal, is found to be having serious national security ramifications and has serious security threats,†the Centre added.
The Centre also said, “It is observed by the Central Government that some Rohingyas are indulging in illegal / anti national activities i.e. mobilization of funds through hundi/hawala channels, procuring fake / fabricated Indian identity documents for other Rohingyas and also indulging in human trafficking. They are also using their illegal network for illegal entry of others in the India. Many of them have managed to acquire fake / fraudulently obtained Indian identity documents i.e. PAN Card and voter cards. “

The Supreme Court considered statement of Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Tushar Mehta, and fixed the next hearing on PIL on October 3.Â
