Union Minister Babul Supriyo has said that if West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has any evidence against him in the Rose Valley chit fund scam, then she should bring it forward.
The singer-turned-politician also said that during the CPM rule in the state there was a free hand to hooligans, and now TMC have taken it to another level. This came after he alleged that his home in Kolkata was attacked by Trinamool Congress workers on Wednesday.
In a series of tweets, Suprioyo said that over 100 TMC workers staged a protest outside his house demanding his arrest in the Rose Valley scam.
This came after Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal, arrested by the CBI for his alleged role in the Rose Valley chit fund scam had dragged Babul Supriyo's name into the graft case.
“I am innocent. I am in no way involved in the scam and the truth will come to the fore soon. I have taken the name of Babul Supriyo and names of some other persons (before CBI). The truth will come out,†Pal had told reporters while he was being taken for interrogation by CBI on a three-day remand on Wednesday.
The Trinamool MP was arrested on December 30 in Kolkata and was later brought to Bhubaneshwar. He has been sent to three-day CBI custody by a special court.
