The Income Tax Department (ITD) has recovered Rs 35 lakh in cash and papers of Benami properties during recent raids at multiple locations linked to Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, according to ANI.
On Wednesday, the ITD sleuths had conducted raids at multiple locations linked to Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot in connection with a tax evasion case. A team of over 60 ITD and police officials raided at least 16 premises linked to Gahlot in the Delhi and Gurgaon (Gurugram).

The raids, that continued till Friday, were conducted in connection with a tax evasion case against two firms — Brisk Infrastructure and Developers Pvt Ltd and Corporate International Financial Services Limited — operated and owned by the family members of Gahlot.
According to the IT Department officials, the firms had allegedly made multiple transactions and under-reported their profit, following which, a tax evasion probe was initiated against the promoters and owners of the two firms.
