Celebrities and sports personalities took to Twitter on Wednesday to express their views over the government's major currency overhaul announce on Tuesday that makes old bank notes of Rs 500 and 1,000 illegal.
The unprecedented move aimed to fight the menace of black money, organised crime, terror funding, counterfeit currency and corruption in public was widely hailed by the likes of actor Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Rajinikanth, Paresh Rawal, singer Abhijeet and cricketers Virender Sehwag and Anil Kumble.
