With frequent incidents of alleged violence perpetrated by both camps, the ruling party CPI(M) and RSS have been at cross-roads in the state for at least past eight months, since elections.

The unrest received a fresh impetus on Thursday when Madhya Pradesh-based leader of RSS Kundan Chandrawat announced a bounty of Rs 1 crore on head of Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in a public event in Ujjain.

The statement drew flak from CPM leaders.

“RSS reveals its true colours as a terrorist outfit. Will PM & his government stop remaining silent?,” Sitaram Yechury said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, RSS distanced itself from the remark.

“RSS doesn't subscribe violent action or words. Violence is Communist creed. History is witness RSS has always responded democratically,” RSS leader Rakesh Sinha tweeted.
