The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, condemning the killing of an RSS worker said the incident was very unfortunate and those behind it will be punished as per law.

“Concerned persons have to be cautious to see that the situation is not turning worse.  The government will make all efforts to bring the guilty before the law,” he told reporters in Kannur.

For the past one year, there have been many instances of a tussle between ruling CPI(M) and RSS. Friday, an RSS worker Choorakad Biju was allegedly killed by a CPI(M) activist at Kannur district of Kerala.

After the incident, BJP demanded Governor Justice (Rtd) P Sathasivam to declare Kannur as a disturbed area and impose AFSPA.

Union minister Giriraj Singh slamming the CPI(M)-led LDF government in Kerala said, “There is no freedom of speech in Kerala. There is only terrorism and Gunda Raj prevailing here.”

BJP had observed a dawn-to-dusk ‘hartal’ in Kannur and nearby Mahe on Saturday to protest the killing of Choorakad Biju.
