India's ace badminton player Saina Nehwal joined Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Wednesday. She joined the party in the presence of BJP's National General Secretary Arun Singh. Saina's elder sister Chandranshu also joined the party at the event. Saina and Chandranshu meet BJP Chief JP Nadda after joining the party.
After Joining the party at a ceremony at its headquarters, Saina Nehwal said the BJP has been working a lot for the country and she would work to do her bit as its member.
"PM Modi is working hard for the country, he inspires me. It’s a privilege for me to be working with PM Modi," Saina said after joining the BJP. On the professional front, Saina was last seen playing in the Thailand Masters tournament where she was knocked in the very first round.
BJP general secretary Arun Singh said that Saina has brought glory to the country with her many international titles.
Saina Nehwal, who won a bronze medal for India in the 2012 Olympics, has been quite active on social media and has tweeted on several issues. She has also lauded many actions and initiatives taken by BJP-led central government in her tweets. BJP is expected to field Saina as a star campaigner for the upcoming Delhi Elections that will take place on February 8.
