Who knew the usual family politics would turn into a purported clash of egos paving the way for upmanship in the Samajwadi Party. Currently Samajwadi party is facing a full blown revolt from the ranks, under its president Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is being questioned by the party newbies.
This political turmoil has been brewing from the last two years between uncle Shivpal Yadav and nephew Akhilesh Yadav but was somehow kept under wraps.
But the rift has become quite apparent with squabbling, Shivpal’s mic snatching and Akhilesh’s tears making the confrontation an evident thing.
Now a day after party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav attempted a patch-up between Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and brother Shivpal Yadav seems far from over.
Akhilesh’s supporters raised slogans at Mulayam Singh Yadav’s press conference at party headquarters. Singh dismissed reports reinstatement of four ministers sacked Sunday, adding that the decision lies with the Chief Minister.
The battle between father and son finally intensified since Akhilesh Yadav made a statement during an interview “I had to decide on my name on my own and also learnt to fight for survival in the 14 years that I spent in hostel.”
Not only this now the fight continues with ticket distribution. CM Akhilesh Yadav wants to be re-appointed as state president, but the party high command has refused. The party is to celebrate its silver jubilee year next month but would there an end to this ongoing tussle in Samajwadi Party?
