After nearly a year of protests and nationwide outcry, sanitary napkins were finally exempted from Goods and Services Tax (GST) on Saturday.
“Sanitary napkins will be exempted from Goods & Services Tax," Finance Minister Piyush Goyal told reporters following the GST council meet in New Delhi on Saturday.
