The lady cop, D Roopa Moudgil, DIG (Prisons) of Karnataka, who exposed the AIADMK leader VK Sasikala bribe gate on Friday alleged that she is being left out by the government for raising corruption issues.
Reacting to state government’s accusations of breaking the service rules by speaking to media Roopa said, “targeting me is unfair. If action is to be taken then it should be against all and not just me."
"I didn't speak to media first. The DG shared the details with media and so service rules should apply to all and not on one," she said, adding, "Let there be a fair probe, I will cooperate."
She has also been issued a show cause notice by Karnataka govt. for exposing the VIP treatment being given to Sasikala at Parappana Agrahara Central prison.
Earlier the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah issuing a notice to Roopa said, "it's absolutely against the rule book. The officer could have approached any of her senior officers about her allegations that prison officers have received bribe to provide special treatment to Sasikala. Instead, it is not appropriate on the part of the officer to go to media and share the details."
"Her repeated statements in the media (even on social media) has embarrassed the department. If the officer had documents to support her claims she could have approached the senior officers instead of discussing those things in the media is against the service rule," Siddaramaiah said, adding, "She has been asked to give a reply to the notice."
Roopa Moudgil exposed AIADMK leader Sasikala that she allegedly paid Rs 2 crore to the Karnataka Director General of Prisons (DGP) Satyanarayana Rao for a 'comfortable stay'.
