New Delhi:
The Indian government can raise the issue of family tax which has decided by the government of Saudi Arabia on the immigrants. The Ministry of External Affairs said that issue would be taken up if it hurts the interest of Indians.
The new rules will affect the relatives of Indian citizens who travel to Saudi Arabia as it will become costly for them. The Saudi government has decided to impose family tax on visitors.
It seems that the government is trying to downplay the matter by terming it as a small levy.
MEA spokesperson Gopal Baglay said that decision is to impose small levy on visitors who will be going to meet Indian workers.
