The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to ex-RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin, Centre and the Bihar government seeking their reply for shifting the former from Siwan district jail in Bihar to Delhi's Tihar jail.
A plea had been filed in SC by slain journalist Rajdeo Ranjan's widow Asha Ranjan for shifting the RJD strongman from Siwan to Tihar jail so that witnesses in her husband’s murder case don’t get influenced.
Asha Ranjan’s plea was heard by an apex court bench on October 17 which in turn had directed the CBI to complete the murder probe within a period of three months.
Rajdeo Ranjan, bureau chief of hindi daily Hindustan was shot dead in July this year near Siwan railway station.
The case has been recommended to the CBI via the Bihar government.
