Snooping Row: WhatsApp Says Notified Govt In May, 'Tech' Input Had No Mention Of Pegasus, Says Centre

A day after Narendra Modi government issued notice to messaging giant WhatsApp over the snooping row, the Facebook-owned company said that it had notified relevant ‘Indian authorities’ about it in May this year. News Nation has also found out that the May notification does exist. It was posted by the relevant Indian department on its website. It is still in public domain. A cursory glance at the homepage of CERT-IN, the government agency, which is responsible for the security of the Indian cyber community shows that the May notification was published under the sub-section of ‘Vulnerability Notes’. Airpocalypse: Delhi-NCR Gasps For Breath, Air Quality Index Stays At 'Severe' Level Of 500

A day after the Supreme Court-mandated anti-pollution authority declared public health emergency in Delhi-NCR, the air quality index registered yet another ‘severe’ Delhi day on Saturday. Major pollutants PM 2.5 at 500 and PM 10 at 500 remained in 'severe' category in Lodhi Road area, according to the Air Quality Index data. Neighbouring Ghaziabad was no better with AQI hovered over 450-mark in localities such as Indirapuram and Vasundhara. Kulgam Killings Aftermath: West Bengal Govt To Bring Back 131 Workers From Kashmir

The West Bengal government is all set to bring back 131 workers from Valley following the killing of five migrant labourers who were shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.  Another labourer was critically injured by the terrorists. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said, “A total of 131 workers who had gone to Kashmir are being brought back to West Bengal.” Read more…

Pakistan: Fazlur Rehman Gives PM Imran Two-Day Ultimatum To Step Down

Pakistan’s hard-line cleric Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday gave Prime Minister Imran Khan a two-day ultimatum to resign, saying he must step down without testing the patience of peaceful protestors. Opposition parties are accusing him of "rigging" the 2018 general elections. The crowd further swelled in Islamabad, as supporters of opposition parties, including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People Party (PPP), joined the anti-government protest rally.
