Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Monday attacked Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and asked to apologise for "insulting" Indian Army by questioning its strength and comparing it with Sangh workers.
During his speech in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Sunday, Mohan Bhagwat had said, “Sangh will prepare military personnel within three days which the Army would do in 6-7 months. This is our capability.”
Terming RSS chief’s remark an “insult to every Indian,” Rahul Gandhi asked Bhagwat to apologise for “disrespecting” martyrs and Army.

“The RSS Chief's speech is an insult to every Indian because it disrespects those who have died for our nation. It is an insult to our flag because it insults every soldier who ever saluted it,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
“Shame on you Mr Bhagwat, for disrespecting our martyrs and our Army. #ApologiseRSS,” the tweet said.
Sensing the trouble, RSS’s chief spokesperson Dr.Manmohan Vaidya came out with a clarification and said Bhagwat’s statement was “misrepresented”.
“This was no way a comparison between the Indian army and the Sangh swayamsevaks but it was a comparison between general society and swayamsevaks,” Vaidya said.
