Sharad Pawar on Saturday stepped down from the post of President of Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA).

Veteran politician Pawar does not qualify to continue as per the Lodha Committee recommendations, which directed that cricket administrators should not be over 70 and must not serve two consecutive terms.

The MCA has called an urgent managing committee meeting on Saturday where the official agenda was discussed regarding the Supreme Court’s recent observations on Lodha Panel report.

To respect the apex court's decision Sharad Pawar tendered resignation to managing committee, now we will see what we do with it, said VP Shetty, Joint secretary Mumbai Cricket Association.
