Congress member Shashi Tharoor was trolled by several Twitterati when he posted Mahavir Jayanti wishes but uploaded Gautam Buddha’s image on his post.
Tharoor, who is known for his witty English and giving new terms, took to Twitter to wish his followers on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. With the wishes, Tharoor uploaded a picture of Gautam Buddha, which immediately caught the eye of Twitterati.
At first, Tharoor tried to defend himself, but later gave in and accepted his mistake. However, instead of deleting the tweet, he proudly accepted his mistake saying ‘honesty is the best policy’.

Twitterati took no time to point out the mistake made by Tharoor and started commenting on his post with different captions and different images. One person commented ‘Happy Diwali’ with a picture of people doing namaaz, while the other commented ‘Happy Children’s Day’ with Rahul Gandhi’s image.
However, after he realised his mistake, he tweeted ‘Ttypos yesterday, Mahavira today…. Will take a break.’
