Coronavirus: Shia Waqf Board Chief Waseem Rizvi Tests Negative For COVID-19

Shia Waqf Board Chief Waseem Rizvi has been admitted to a private hospital after he complained of severe breathing trouble. Immediately after being admitted, the blood samples of Waseem Rizvi were being tested for any signs of the novel coronavirus.

Shia Waqf Board Chief Waseem Rizvi has been tested negative for the novel coronavirus or COVID-19. It is to be noted that Waseem Rizvi has been admitted to a private hospital after he complained of severe breathing trouble. Immediately after being admitted, Rizvi's blood samples were taken to investigate whether he has been affected with coronavirus or not. 

Talking exclusively to News Nation, Waseem Rizvi said that he has been tested negative for coronavirus. Waseem Rizvi has recently returned from Dubai. 

Meanwhile, a journalist who attended Congress leader Kamal Nath’s final press conference as Madhya Pradesh chief minister on March 20 has tested positive for the coronavirus. According to India Today report, the journalist's daughter has also tested positive for the COVID-19.

This comes a day after PM Modi announced a complete lockdown across the country amid increasing cases of coronavirus. All integrated check posts (ICPs) at all airports, seaports, land ports, rail ports, and river ports are closed down. Two states - Punjab and Maharashtra - and a UT - Puducherry - have already declared curfew in their respective areas. Whereas, in Delhi, section 144 has been imposed. Not only this, but Indian Railways has also suspended all passenger services until March 31 and said only goods trains will run during the period. Moreover, the metro rail services were also suspended till March 31.

On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a press conference and said that an economic package will be announced to soon that will tackle the crisis.

It is to be noted that more than 550 cases for coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, have been reported so far in India. Whereas, the death count due to coronavirus has reached to 11. With the death count crossing 16,000-mark, the novel coronavirus outbreak, also known as COVID-19, has created havoc across the world.

Who Is Waseem Rizvi?

Syed Waseem Rizvi is a four-time chairman of the Shia Central Board of Waqf in Uttar Pradesh. He is a producer of the Bollywood film Ram Ki Janmabhoomi. It is said that Waseem Rizvi is anti-Mullah. He had also proposed the shifting of Babri Masjid on one acre of land for Shia Muslims in Lucknow’s Husainabad area. Rizvi had also demanded inclusion of the Shia Muslim community in the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA).
