Shimla gangrape case: CBI, AIIMS doctor begin investigation

A six-member investigation team including sleuths of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), officials of Central Forensic Science Laboratory and doctors from AIIMS on Monday visited the spot from where body of a raped minor girl was recovered.

The team on the directions of the Himachal High Court, has begun the investigation into the gangrape and murder of 16-year-old girl.

The investigation team is minutely collecting forensic evidences from the spot and quizzing several locals in connection to the brutal rape and murder.

The CBI probe so far have found loopholes in the local police theory that the victim was gangraped, tortured and murdered in jungle. While, CBI sleuths in their investigation found that spot is not deserted.

On July 4, the victim did not return home from Government Senior Secondary School, Mahasu. Police had found school dress near her body. The police have yet not released the postmortem report.

Since the incident came to surface, hundreds of protesters including the girl’s relatives and friends are demanding arrest of the offenders to the earliest.

The local police so far have arrested four labours including two from Nepal in connection to the rape and murder of the minor.

However, the family members claim that the local police is trying to save the real perpetrators.

The family members told the media that the victim's body bare cigarette burn scars, bite marks ver lips, cheek and breast, bore scratch marks on her back and her arms and legs were fractures.
