At least two terrorists were killed in an encounter on Monday in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district. The gunfight started when security forces launched a search operation in Lawdara village following specific information about the presence of some terrorists. Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ Makes Landfall In Bangladesh, 10 Killed, Over 21 Lakh Evacuated

Cyclone ‘Bulbul’, which barrelled through the coastal districts of West Bengal, smashed into Bangladesh on Sunday killing at least 10 people in the low-lying areas. The cyclone packed winds of up to 120 kilometres per hour (kph) when it made a predawn landfall before weakening into a deep depression, forcing the authorities to evacuate over 21 lakh people. Read more...

Iran Discovers Massive Oil Field Holding 53 Billion Barrels Of Crude

A find that would boost Iran’s proven reserves, Tehran on Sunday said it has discovered a massive new oil field. President Hassan Rouhani said the country’s economy had stabilised despite punishing US measures against its senior leaders, banking and finance sectors. “The vast field in the southwestern province of Khuzestan holds an estimated 53 billion barrels of crude,” he said. Read more...
