Ruckus in Lok Sabha after Shiv Sena raises MP Ravindra Gaikwad’s fly ban issue

Defending their MP Ravindra Gaikwad in Parliament over Air India row, Senior Shiv Sena leaders on Thursday threatened that they would not keep mum on Gaikwad’s fly ban issue, alleging that the government did not pay heed in the matter. A privilege motion had already been moved in Parliament. 

The party MPs raised the issue in Lok Sabha, which resulted in an uproar. 

While talking to media, Shiv Sena MP Anand Rao Adsul said that they would not remain silent on the issue. He blamed that the government turned a blind eye in the matter despite his party is part of the government. Ravindra Gaikwad also arrived in Parliament on Thursday. He forced to take a chartered plane to reach to the national capital. 

On the other hand, Senior Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut rejected claims that his MP has assaulted the Air India staffer. He questioned, saying that who says that Gaikwad has assaulted anyone. He said the party never runs away. 

On Wednesday, Shiv Sena's Lok Sabha MPs had warned of protests in Parliament if the issue of its MP Ravindra Gaikwad. Gaikwad has been banned from flying by several airlines after he allegedly hit an Air India staffer, remains unresolved.

All major domestic airlines have imposed a flying ban on him for assaulting an Air India duty manager.

On Wednesday, the Lok Sabha Secretariat had sought details from the Civil Aviation Ministry of the incident involving Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad and the subsequent ban against him by Air India for assaulting its staffer.

The report had been sought after the privilege motion moved by the Shiv Sena as its MP was banned by all major domestic airlines from flying, after he had assaulted anAir-India employee.
