In a veiled attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, senior Samajwadi Party leader Shvipal Singh Yadav on Wednesday alleged that lathi charge was restored at the behest of “a few mighty people†in the third phase of Uttar Pradesh polls on last Sunday (19-02-2017) in an order to “ensure defeat†for him.
The party stalwart said that he always wants that Samajwadi Party to return to power. He said he supports Akhilesh Yadav and would continue to do in future too, but not at the cost of self-respect.  He said the chief minister should have consulted him before taking any decision as the latter has nurtured confusion about him.
Shivpal said he also wants respect for party mentor Mulayam Singh Yadav in the party and he is backing Netaji as his orders are always correct for him.
Yadav also alleged that BJP had distributed alcohol and money to gain votes in its favour.
When asked about campaigning for party in the rest of the phases where polls are to be held, he said he has not thought about it, but if Mulayam Singh Yadav asked to for it, he would follow the orders. He said he does not want to campaign for Congress candidates.
