Shivpal Yadav counters Amit Shah, says baseless allegations levelled

Hitting back at Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh PWD Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav today said it does not behove BJP president Amit Shah to “level baseless, false and negative allegations” against him and dared him to prove the charges. In a statement issued here, Shivpal said Shah’s comments are misleading and aimed at creating confusion.

“If he has any proof then he should make it public, otherwise he should apologise for his statement which is aimed at tarnishing my image,” he said.

Earlier, addressing a meeting of booth incharge of Kanpur and Bundelkhand regions in Kanpur, Shah claimed that Shivpal was responsible for the violence in Mathura and sought his immediate resignation.

Suggesting Shah to follow positive, ideological and development oriented politics, Shivpal said he should stop misleading the people of the state.

“He has become short of issues due to better working of SP government and therefore he is giving baseless statements,” he said.

He also attacked BSP supremo Mayawati, saying before criticising Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, she must do a reality check.

“She comes to UP like a tourist just to give statements.  The Chief Minister has gone to Bundelkhand to accelerate development works and interact directly with the people,” he said.

“Her relations with BJP are well known. She had formed the government in alliance with BJP. During Godhra incident, when SP was fighting against communal forces, she went to campaign for the then chief minister Narendra Modi,” Shivpal said.
