Madhya Pradesh farmers protest: Shivraj Singh Chouhan appeals farmers to end protests, says will fast to bring peace in state

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a press conference on protests in Mandsaur on Friday where he said that he will fast at Dussehra Maidan on Saturday from 11 AM to bring peace. He also said that people may come to him to discuss their problems.

“From 11 am tomorrow I'll sit at Dussehra Maidan, people may come & discuss things with me. I will fast to bring peace,” Chouhan said.

He further said that they will not allow anyone to disturb the law and order in the state.

“Negative elements will be dealt with strongly. Establishing law & order is our priority. Some people have handed over stones to youth,” he said.

Earlier, curfew was relaxed on Friday for the day in Mandsaur and Pipliamandi as the situation in the areas hit by violent protests by farmers improved. SP Manoj Kumar Singh said that authorities decided to relax curfew from 10 am to 6 pm as the situation has improved.
