In a heart-wrenching incident, a mentally challenged man on Tuesday allegedly beheaded a woman teacher near her school Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharswan district. The man reportedly ran five kilometers into the jungle with her severed head. However, police chased him down and took into their custody.
Enraged over the incident, the mob wanted to lynch the man but police saved him and in the process, four policemen got injured, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Seraikela, Avinash Kumar said, according to PTI.
The shocking incident took place when the teacher was serving mid-day meal to the student of Khaprasai Primary School. The accused, a 26-year-old Hari Hembram, entered the school and dragged the teacher outside and beheaded her with a sharp-edged sword.
Police were informed and they quickly reached the spot where the man was carrying his head and the sword. A mob also gathered there but not body dared to go near to the accused since he was carrying the weapon.
However, when police caught him, the locals started beating him black and blue and was taken to Sadar Hospital. He was later shifted to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur, the police official said.
