Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, who had recently attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him a ‘weak’ PM has yet again attacked him questioning his ‘silence’ on China amid the standoff in Sikkim sector. “Why is our Prime Minister silent on China?” he wrote on Twitter.
China and India have been engaged in a stand-off in the Dokalam area near the Bhutan tri-junction region for the past 19 days after a Chinese army's construction party attempted to build a road. Doka La is the Indian name for the region which Bhutan recognises as Dokalam, while China claims it as part of its Donglang region.
On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi had called PM Modi a weak prime minister for accepting the US referring to Kashmir as "Indian-administered Kashmir".
He also attacked PM Modi for not discussing the H1-B visa issue during his recent talks with US President Donald Trump. “India has a weak PM”, he tweeted.
On June 26, designating Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Syed Salahuddin a "global terrorist", the US in a statement referred to the northern state as "Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir".
