SIT gets major breakthrough in Panchkula violence case; arrests 4 people associated with Gurmeet, Honeypreet

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested CEO of Gurmeet Singh’s company CP Arora on Tuesday. Arora belongs to Sirsa.

The SIT team has also got success in Panchkula violence case. The Panchkula violence took place on August 25.

The SIT has arrested two people from Bathinda. Charanjeet Singh and Gurmeet Singh who gave shelter to Honeypreet Insan have been arrested.

Gopal Bansal, who was accused for inciting violence, has also been arrested. He was arrested from Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh.

Bansal is part of 45 member committee of Dera management.

Around 35 people were killed and 250 injured in a widespread violence on August 25.

Thousands of followers of Gurmeet Singh went on the rampage, setting fire to vehicles, buildings and railway stations soon after a special CBI court convicted him in a 2002 rape case.

The unrest which began in Panchkula spread to other parts of Haryana and Punjab and even New Delhi.
