Nine people were killed when a truck ploughed through a crowd that had gathered around an accident site near a bridge on the Bhathinda-Rampura Phul road in Punjab on Wednesday morning. According to police, low visibility due to smog is said to be the reason behind the accident.
A senior police officer of Bhatinda said, early in morning a car broke down near the bridge, which was few minutes later hit by a bus. A large number of people had gathered at the accident site when the truck ran over the onlookers.
Bhatinda Police told the media nine people were killed in the accident. The truck driver fled from incident site.
