New Delhi:

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused the Congress of compromising national security for political gains and alleged that Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council (NAC) was “supporting ground for Naxalites” during the UPA government.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, BJP’s firebrand spokesperson Sambit Patra also levelled a series of allegations against several Congress leaders, including Digvijaya Singh and Jairam Ramesh, saying that they “romanticised” the Naxalism.

“National security is an issue of paramount importance and to play with national security only for political opportunism is something which the Congress has been doing so,” Patra told reporters.
