Sopore encounter: Two militants gunned down by security forces

An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Sapore region on Friday morning. Both the militants trapped inside a house following a fierce gun battle have been gunned down by the security forces. According to media reports, anti-insurgency operations were still underway.

The area has been cordoned off by the army and efforts are on to flush out the lone militant. The fresh gun battle erupts a day after security forces gunned down four terrorists during an infiltration bid along the LoC.

On Thursday, one jawan was martyred and four militants were killed in a gun battle in Tangdhar sector of Kashmir when the terrorists were trying to enter the Indian territory.
