In yet another near miss incident two aircrafts came close to each other in Goa airspace, triggering the planes' traffic collision avoidance alarm system to go off and forcing their pilots to take necessary action to maintain a safe distance between them.
The incident happened on Nagpur-Mumbai route and a probe has been ordered by the civil aviation regulator--Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Though this is not the first time when such incident got reported. In August, Indigo had a scare when two of its planes averted a mid-air collision over Dhaka airspace.
About 35 near-miss incidents involving aircraft of various airlines have been reported in Indian airspace between January 2015 and March this year.
Who probes such incidents?
Airprox Investigation Board, constituted by DGCA, probes all such incidents.
Airprox is defined as a situation when two aircraft come dangerously close to each other.
