Delhi Crime Branch probes Mehmood Akhtar, the man detained in the espionage racket. Sleuth interrogated Akhtar asking him basic questions like his name, purpose and what all projects he had in hand.
Mehmood admits that he is a constable posted in Pakistan embassy. Akhtar on Friday was allowed to go to Pakistan due to his diplomatic immunity but it remains a tough task for sleuths to identify who was leaking the secret information related to BSF deployment on Indo-Pak border.
So far three Indian nationals have been arrested on the alleged charges of espionage. Mehmood Akhtar, the alleged ISI agent, Sohaib, one of the key associates of Akhtar, who was caught in Rajasthan and Shoaib’s father. Investigators suspect involvement of some retired and serving BSF officers, according to sources.
