The protest of students against the alleged scam in Staff Selection Commission (SSC) exams continued for the fourth straight day on Holi at the SSC headquarters at Lodhi Road in New Delhi.

The students were demanding a CBI inquiry into the alleged paper leak of SSC CGL Tier II Exam 2018 held on February 21.

Alleging wrongdoing, the students said the screenshots of examination paper along with answers went viral on social media.

Following the leak, the SSC had cancelled the examination held in the morning shift on February 21 and said the exam will be re-conducted on March 9.

However, the students alleged “mass cheating” in the exam centres and demanded nothing less than a CBI inquiry.

“Neither students nor teachers are allowed to carry phones and watches in the exam centres. Given such stringent security arrangements, how screenshots of the question paper went viral,” said an M.Sc. student who appeared in the exam and was attending the protest.

The SSC handpicks the centres where the online examination has to be conducted. There is tight security inside the exam centres and candidates are given answer sheets while the question paper is accessible through a computer.

Political parties have come out in support of the agitating students with Congress terming the alleged SSC scam as another Vyapam and Aam Aadmi Party asking Centre to immediately order a CBI inquiry.

Congress terming the alleged SSC scam another Vyapam said, “Jobs being sold, future of millions of youth jeopardised, unabated protests continue for 3 days in Delhi, yet Modiji & SSC remain mum. If there is nothing wrong, why no CBI probe? Will PM answer?”

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said, “With lakhs of protesters clamouring for justice it is clear that SSC CLG Mains 2018 must be scrapped & rescheduled. A CBI inquiry into the leak is imperative. Our nation cannot afford to shake the faith of our students in the competitive examination system.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the issue was connected with the future of thousands of students and Centre should immediately accept their demand for CBI inquiry into the SSC exam scam.
