Movies raking new controversies for their controversial remarks and dialogues is not new, this time it is Mammootty starrer- ‘Kasaba’. Kerala Women's Commission issued notice to the film maker and actor for some scenes and dialogues reflecting misogyny.

The State Women’s Commission also sent a letter to the Censor Board of Film Certification asking them to be more cautious while dealing with misogyny in movies.

“In the name of freedom of expression, women cannot be insulted,” the commission said, adding, when an actor like Mammootty makes such sub-standard dialogues, it will lead to a dangerous acceptance of such actions and remarks in the society. Actors like him should desist from enacting such scenes,” the commission added.

Commission watched the film after it was widely criticised in media and social media. In the movie Mammootty threatens a senior female police officer on duty.
