Despite rigorous government action, Naxal-related violence has been consistent in past few years. In last seven years, Naxals have ambushed and killed CRPF jawans, once they killed 76 CRPF personnel in one attack.

In one of the biggest ambush attack on CRPF personnel, Naxals have killed at least 25 jawans. According to ASP Jitendra Shukla, 6 CRPF jawans have been injured in the incident. It is said that a team of 90 CRPF personnel was supporting the road construction work when the Naxals attacked the CRPF personnel. The weapons of jawans have also been looted.

An injured CRPF jawan Sher Mohammed told that initially, Naxals sent villagers to trace their location and around 300 Naxals attacked them. He told that they too replied with bullets and killed several Naxals in the incident.

April 24, 2017: 25 CRPF personnel killed in Sukma district by Maoists. Six jawans injured.

March 11, 2017: Maoists kill 12 CRPF men and loot their arms in Sukma. Four persons injured.

July 19, 2016: Naxals kill 10 CRPF commandoes in the jungles of Bihar’s Aurangabad district.

April 11, 2015: Naxals kill seven policemen and injure 10 other in a gunbattle at Sukma. The encounter took place in the worst-affected Pidmel-Polampalli area of the district.

June 14, 2014: Around 500 Naxals kill three passengers and injure six others after hijacking Dhanbad-Patna express train in Jamui district of Bihar.

April 10, 2014: Naxals blow a CRPF jeep, killing six commandoes and two others in Jamui district of Bihar.

March 11, 2014: Maoists kill 15 security persons in Sukma district.February 28, 2014: Maoists kill six police personnel, including a SHO, in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.

May 25, 2013: Naxals kill 25 Congress leaders including former state minister Mahendra Karma and Chhattisgarh Congress chief Nand Kumar Patel in Darbha valley of Chhattisgarh.

October 18, 2012: Maoists kill six CRPF men and injure eight personnel, including a deputy commandant, in landmine blasts and gunbattle in district Gaya of Bihar.

June 29, 2010: Naxals ambush and kill around 26 CRPF personnel in district Narayanpur of Chhattisgarh.

May 8, 2010: Maoists kill eight CRPF jawans after blowing up a bullet-proof vehicle in district Bijapur of Chhhattisgarh.
