The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned hearing for Friday, January 10, on a plea seeking postponement of the Union Budget to March, after the Assembly polls in five states were completed.

The apex court observed that tentatively no justification was found against the government's decision.

The plea was filed by Manohar Lal Sharma, who claimed that due to upcoming assembly elections in five states, people will face a lot of problem.

In December last year, the apex court refused to give an urgent hearing to a plea filed by lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma in which he demanded the budget be presented in March.
