The group of BCCI administrators is expected to be named by the Supreme Court on Friday, January 20, instead of January 19.

The Apex court is hearing the matter on Friday to announce the appointment of a new set of administrators who will run the BCCI until fresh elections are held.

“The case has been listed for January 20 and I am speaking to my lawyers as petitioner that I will also propose a few names for administrators’ post,” said Aditya Verma, secretary of unsanctioned Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB).

There is a possibility that an eminent member from the judiciary is entrusted with the job, apart from a member of CAG and a former cricketer.

It is very likely that Mukul Mudgal, former judge of the Delhi High Court, will be part of the new administration panel along with former top bureaucrat Gopal Krishna Pillai, ex-CAG Vinod Rai and former India all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath.

Other than Mukul Mudgal, the rest of the names were suggested to the SC bench by the court-appointed amicus curiae and senior counsel Gopal Subramanium in the previous hearing, and also had the support of the Justice RM Lodha Committee.
