New Delhi:
A married man killed his girlfriend and chopped her body into eleven pieces in Gujarat’s Surat, police said on Wednesday.
According to Surat Police, the accused was caught red handed while he was trying to dispose severed body parts of his girlfriend on Tuesday early hours.
The accused has been identified as Shahnawaz Sheikh and the deceased as 32-year-old Zulekha Sheikh.
“He was arrested while he was trying to dispose a severed hand and leg of his girlfriend,” a police officer posted at Surat said.
He further added that during questioning he told the police that he had managed to successfully dispose several body parts into the river from the ONGC Bridge.
“We have recovered the victim’s severed head from Shahnawaz’s flat,” the officer added.
The accused has been identified as Shahnawaz Sheikh and the deceased as 32-year-old Zulekha Sheikh.
During interrogation police have learnt that Shahnawaz is married and has two children. “He told us that he decided to kill Zulekha as she was creating problem in his married life and was forcing him to get divorced,” the officer added.
Shahnawaz also told the police that Zulekha had been regularly demanding money from him so he called her to his empty flat and strangled her to death.
“After killing her he chopped her body into 11 pieces,” the officer added.
