A day after indicating another surgical strike on Pakistan, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh Saturday said India would not be the first to open fire at a neighbouring country, but if the opponent opens fire, BSF jawans won’t count bullets to fire back.
Early on Friday, the home minister, while speaking at an event in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar stressed on the awful attack by Pakistani Rangers on BSF jawan Narendra Singh, who found dead and mutilated near the border in Jammu and Kashmir last week.
"Our neighbouring country Pakistan keeps fostering unrest. It doesn't refrain from its nefarious activities. People often raise how they mistreat our Border Security Force jawans," Singh said.
"You might have seen something... something has happened, I won't say what. It has happened, it has gone alright. You can believe us, it has been alright - just two-three days ago. Some people know. And you will see ahead, what happens," he added.

Singh, however, did not elaborate on his cryptic comment which came after Pakistani troops slit Kumar's throat and fatally shot him along the international border (IB) near Jammu, officials said on 19 September.
As per the official sources, Kumar's body was retrieved ahead of the India-Pakistan fence after over six hours, as Pakistan "did not respond" to calls to maintain the sanctity of the frontier and ensure that the BSF search parties were not fired upon.
Though the BSF has chosen to remain tight-lipped on the developments, there are reports the force had alerted all its formations along the IB and informed the army to remain vigilant at the LoC.
On the intervening night of September 28 and 29, 2016, Indian army personnel carried out surgical strikes on seven terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC). Today, to celebrate the second anniversary of the Surgical Strike, netizens will take part in several events organised in different cities across India to salute the indomitable courage, sacrifices and valour of our brave army jawans.
