Sushma Swaraj’s veiled attack on Pak: 'Countries using terrorism as an instrument of state policy'

In a veiled attack, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday attacked Pakistan for supporting and sheltering terrorism.

During at BRICS ministerial meeting, Sushma said horror of terrorism continues to haunt global peace and security.

Terror groups draw sustenance from support systems in South Asia, she said.

Without citing Pakistan’s name, Sushma said terrorism continue to find support and shelter in countries which use it as an instrument of state policy.

“They continue to find support and shelter in countries which use terrorism as an instrument of State Policy,” she said. 

Sushma Further added, " We must condemn efforts, incl by States, to use religion to justify, sustain &sponsor terrorism against other countries." 

She said there is a need for collective efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and their financing, and movement. 

The External Affairs Minister said,"We must together work for early conclusion of negotiations&adoption of Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism in UN."
