Armed Maoists abducted three villagers from Karlapat in Kalahandi district suspecting them as police informers, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place last night when about 20 armed rebels abducted three villagers, Kalahandi SP Brijesh Rai said. They also looted the house of a police constable, who is at present posted at Bhawanipatna.
The rebels also torched a motor cycle and took away gold ornaments and ATM card from the family members of the constable, he said.
"Combing operation is in progress to rescue the abducted villagers," the SP said.
