Davinder Singh, the suspended Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police who was arrested for helping two terrorists travel out of Jammu and Kashmir, has been sent to 15-day custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Davinder Singh was produced in the special NIA court along with the two terrorists and their two associates on Thursday. The four others were also sent to NIA custordy for 15 days.
"Today(23-1-2020), five arrested accused namely Davinder Singh, Syed Naveed Mushtaq Shah, Irfan Shafi Mir, Rafi Ahmad Rather and Syed Irfan Ahmad in case RC-1/2020/NIA/Jammu, were produced before the NIA Spl. Court Jammu. The Court has granted 15 days’ custody of the accused to NIA till 06.02.2020," a release said.
Syed Irfan, brother of a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist arrested along with Singh, was also produced in the court by the NIA after it arrested him on Thursday. The accused were brought to the court in bullet-proof vehicles with their faces covered. The NIA, which took over the investigations into the case last weekend, brought them to Jammu on Wednesday on a transit remand from Kulgam in south Kashmir.
