Suspicious packet found in food trolley of Air India aircraft at Delhi airport

New Delhi:

A suspicious packet was found in the food trolley of an Air India aircraft at Delhi airport on Thursday.

The officials of custom department are investigating the suspicious packet.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Police had received a phone call threatening to blow up the prime minister's residence, Rajiv Chowk metro station and Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, which later turned out to be a hoax.

The Delhi Police control room had received the call at 8.30 am, a senior police official said.

Teams of the police special cell and bomb disposal unit had carried out serach operations at all three locations for over an hour.

"Operations were carried out in the above locations and it was found that the call was a hoax. The mobile number of the caller was traced to a location in north-west Delhi," the officer had said, adding the phone was switched off immediately after the call.
