A decision would be taken in the “next 15 days” on whether to stay in the “BJP-led alliance” or not, Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatna (SSS) leader Raju Shetti, said on Saturday. The party is a constituent of the NDA and a part of the Maharashtra government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given assurances to farmers during the 2014 Lok Sabha poll campaign but has failed to deliver them so far, the leader said.
While speaking to reporters, he said, “The SSS will decide in the next 15 days on whether stay in the BJP-led alliance or not...Farmers in the country are disappointed by the failed assurances of Modi”.

“During his poll campaigns before becoming the prime minister, Modi had assured to raise the minimum support prices and implement the Swaminathan committee recommendations on agriculture in the interest of farmers. However, after coming to power, he has forgotten his assurances and does not even have time to meet the agitating farmers,” Shetti said.
He also informed that a huge farmers’ protest will be staged in Delhi on December 20.
